The activity is aimed towards the local youth, to provide educational experiences in a fun context.
The participants (mostly teenagers between 12 and 16) are each meeting one of the international volunteers once a week, exchanging vocabulary and talking about cultural differences.
Since the current volunteers are from Germany, the Tandem lessons include an exchange of German and Greek vocabulary while mostly communicating in English. The volunteers also organise numerous events to provide fun free time activities for the youngsters and to combine creativity and learning in a unique way.
“Tandem” language exchange is managed by the “Filoxenia” Association and the Cultural Association of Kryoneri.
