Saint George church

It is a church of the basilica style, near the village, on the road to Rakiteza and Valathra, with a wonderful view of the Corinthian Gulf and Vocha. As it is written on a marble plaque above the main entrance of the church, it was built in 1927 by Konstantinos and Ekaterini Anagnostopoulou. In the strong earthquake that struck Corinthia in 1981, the church was severely damaged and was in a state of disrepair. Therefore, it was demolished and a new church of larger dimensions was built in the same place. In its courtyard a beautiful stone fountain was built and a small bell tower was placed. It is celebrated on April 23 and residents from the neighboring village of Souli and our fellow villagers from Kiato participate in the service.
