Amphitheatre

The Kryoneri Amphitheatre with a capacity of 290 seats was built in 1998 by the Community of Kryoneri with funds from the Rural Tourism Program and is used for outdoor cultural activities. Every year, during Cultural Week, local institutions and schools, as well as artistic groups from Greece and abroad are invited to present their work to the entire village community. Concerts, dances, theatre, summer cinema, book presentations, etc. take place every year in the amphitheater.

In the year of 2018, the Jakobi Jewish family donated money to express their gratitude towards the descendants of the families who have sheltered them during the Nazi occupation. This opened up the possibility of a further renovation of the building. After 74 years, Ricky Jakobi has returned to Kryoneri to once again see the place where she had fled from Athens with her family to escape their extermination.
