The Upper Fountain (Pano Vrisi) was the central water supply point of the village. According to an inscription embedded in the wall, it was renovated for the first time in 1938 and the neighbourhoods of Zarkai, Kloutsinas, Tsolakai, Filai, etc. received water from it. It was also the place where the women of the mahalas washed their clothes. Both the lower and upper fountains are connected to the local spring and supply the inhabitants of Kryoneri with clean water, even before the local pipelines were created in 1962. Both fountains were built in the 18th century. Then in 1936 the wall around the upper fountain was constructed. In the year 1998 the fountain was renovated by that year’s agrotourism program.
Today, the upper fountain, located right next to the amphitheater, offers coolness to all the residents and visitors of Kryoneri.
